This whole Mamdani story isn’t a story about a progressive candidate for Mayor of NYC who crushed his fellow candidates in the primary. The story is about the morally bankrupt editors at the NYT. A Nazi who promotes race theories based on writings that were discredited and debunked decades ago gave the paper hacked documents that show Mamdani checked Asian and Black/African American on a college application. Mamdani is Southeast Asian and was born in Uganda.
Mostly no one except racists cares about how college applicant Mamdani checked boxes that leaves most everyone who isn’t White unable to convey their “racial” background with any accuracy.
Lots of people care that the NYT failed to mention that the hacked documents and background info came from a notorious White Supremicist whose beliefs divorce him from reality and give him a vested and emotional interest in promulgating his hateful, harmful, and wrong views. They left out that part. And they appear to have forced another of their reporters to delete his social commentary calling them out for this.
And now the NYT is saying, clearly this was a story of interest! Look at the reaction!
Dudes. The reaction isn’t about Mamdani. The reaction is about you actively participating in and promulgating a White Nationalist’s fantasies about race.
