I am taking a brief break from complaining about shit to remind everyone who got their measles vaccine in the 1960-1970s-ish period that they may not actually be protected against measles. The vaccine used in that time may not have conferred full protection. Therefore, you should ask your doctor to confirm that you have immunity. If you do, awesome. If not, you will need to get vaccinated ASAP.

A few years ago, I read about this issue and asked to be checked. I was shocked to learn that I DID NOT HAVE MEASLES IMMUNITY. Of course I got vaccinated immediately. I told my siblings that they should also get tested which they did. All of them had immunity. I guess I was just unlucky. The scary thing is that my state has several pockets of fools who were listening to idiots like RFK jr and there were areas where herd immunity was vanishing. And I had a work colleague who said, out loud in the office, that he did not get vaccinated for anything because everyone else got vaccinated and that made him safe. So this fucking idiot could have spread a deadly disease to me, who did not know I was not immune.

There is a spreading measles outbreak in this country. Protect yourself and others who cannot.
