“Autocorrect” is getting more and more dangerous. I’m realizing now that we’re in this age of forced AI that after decades of writing fiction I have developed an expert level of finding normal typos and errors when I’m rereading/editing my work. Now autocorrect is making stupid dumb and WRONG changes that slip by me because they are not typical errors.
Worse, AI is “correcting” words and phrases that are exactly what I want them to be. This slows me down because I have to make sure there hasn’t been an unintended “correction” that fucks up my intentions.
I’m having to learn to edit in a different way to find these errors, or I encounter them and have to ask “WTF is this word salad that I don’t even remember writing?”
I really really need there to be a way to make this level of intrusion into my writing go away.
It’s no long Autocorrect. It’s AutoIncorrect.
