more hypocrisy

A freelance journalist wrote an article about summer books. Only it turns out he used AI and most of the books did not exist. He did not check his work and I guess no one else did either.

Here’s what I know: If this journalist had written a book with the power of his mind and keyboard, no AI, he’d be one of the first to be yelling about AI books jumping to the head of the book sales list and making his impossible to find. He’d be fucking pissed when the AI summary of his book or a pirated copy of his book showed up to funnel sales away from his book.

And if some other journalist had created a list of summer reads that would have potentially included his work, he’d be pissed at the media for publishing fake news that affects his business.
